The standard

What Is FORS?

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme for fleet operators. The FORS Standard sets out requirements designed to improve safety, efficiency, environmental performance and the overall quality of fleet operations.

FORS accreditation is available at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, with each stage representing progression against the requirements of the FORS Standard.

For some operators, FORS accreditation may also form part of customer, contractual, procurement or supply-chain requirements.

Accreditation levels

Bronze, Silver & Gold

FORS operates at three progressive levels. HAULSAFE UK provides independent preparation and consultancy support; official accreditation is assessed separately.

Bronze

FORS Bronze – The Foundation

Bronze is the entry level of FORS accreditation and provides the foundation for progression through the scheme. It requires operators to demonstrate appropriate systems, procedures and records across management, vehicles, drivers and fleet operations.

Gold is the highest level of FORS accreditation and builds on both Bronze and Silver. It is aimed at operators demonstrating sustained improvement and leadership in safety, sustainability, operational performance and professional development.

Independent FORS Preparation & Consultancy

HAULSAFE UK provides independent FORS consultancy, gap analysis, implementation and accreditation preparation support. We do not award FORS accreditation.

Official FORS accreditation remains subject to the applicable FORS registration, assessment, audit, evidencing and approval processes. Relevant FORS subscription, audit, evidencing, training and other third-party fees are separate from HAULSAFE UK's consultancy fees unless specifically stated otherwise.
